A trained financial counsellor can:

– Give you advice
– Help with Centrelink issues
– Explain what you can do if you can’t pay bills, fines or debts
– Help you work out payment plans/options
– Tell you what assistance/funding/support may be available to you
– Help you to access support if you’ve been affected by flood, drought and bushfire
– Assist with credit and loan issues
– Financial counsellors can also assist with accessing small loans.  Up to $1500 can be borrowed through the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) and up to $3000 in a low-interest loan through the InRoads program.
